Ramshackle: Animated Opening Theme

After the success of Ramshackle's animated pilot, I was invited back to help with the opening theme! I handled the majority of the compositing, about half of the FX, and pitched in with a few rough animation and clean-up scenes!

I created clean, easy to use production assets and motion graphics inside Toon Boom Harmony. I animated the intro and outro sequences, beginning with storyboard brainstorming through to compositing and final deliveries.

Ramshackle: The Animated Pilot

This was a remote position, requiring strong self-management skills, clear and routine communication, implementation of revisions, and timely delivery. In all of my roles, I ensured my files were easy to pick up through employing the use of clear naming conventions, frame markings, colour coded layers, organized node views, and in-file notes.
As a rough animator, I collaborated with the production team to translate storyboards into cleanup-ready animation. I drafted acting choices, synced movements up with neighbouring shots, added lipsync, and interacted with feedback for revisions to meet the director's vision.
My FX contributions consisted of spinning smear backgrounds for action shots, 2D wing assets to align with an imported 3D modeled character, animated cell-shaded lighting, smoke, dust, goo, foam, impact bursts, node-based rays, and more.
While compositing, I patched up small animation errors as they were discovered, analyzed concept thumbnails and/or neighbouring scenes to create treatments, crafted environmental ambiances with the intended atmosphere in mind, made use of Toon Boom's node systems to apply gradients, rim lighting, and colour corrections in-file, and packaged up export bundles.

I was invited to go live on Toon Boom's official Youtube and Twitch channels to have a conversation about traditional animation, thoughts on timing charts, and designing characters for animation. During the stream, I was animating animals and breaking down my processes on some of my personal projects.
