Tools of the Trade

I'm fluent and familiar with Toon Boom Harmony, Photoshop, and Paint Tool SAI - I use them on a daily basis for animations, illustrations, and doodles alike. I have a general understanding of After Effects and Storyboard Pro. In addition, while my interest lies in 2D animation, a decent portion of my college education involved Maya's 3D workspace, and I've dabbled in Blender on my own time. Should a project require the merging of 2D and 3D teams, I believe I'd be able to pitch in with troubleshooting and connect effectively.

Remote Work Set-Up

Working remote? No problem! :D 

I animate on a Wacom 13" HD tablet, and currently have active licenses for Toon Boom Harmony Premium and the Adobe Creative Cloud bundle.

Career Goals

My end-goal is to be a part of a team of enthusiastic storytellers, working in an upbeat, inspired, and healthy environment while creating high quality animated content. Something story-driven and artful! Something to be proud to say you contributed to! I want to feel like I'm adding something of value to the world; to have a hand in the messages, memories, jokes, and quotes that follow viewers through their lives. :D

If I were to pick two pieces of animation that illustrate the type of projects I'd strive to be a part of in the future, they would be Cartoon Saloon's "Wolf Walkers" and Tracy Butler's "Lackadaisy".

What I'm Looking for in a Workplace

A space run by humans, for humans!

A friendly atmosphere makes it easy to ask for opinions, give feedback, learn, and grow. Being able to joke and laugh keeps the creative vibes alive, and makes those occasional, inevitable long days better! A swift-moving production environment doesn't faze me, as I'm an organized, goal-oriented person who prefers to be kept busy. I'd like to work in a place that takes employees' well-being just as seriously as its film production. Animation is great fun, but so is keeping my eyesight, neck, and wrist function long-term! Gotta get the sunlight and stretches in! : )

Limitations

Better to keep these in the open. No surprises!

I won't animate R-rated material such as scenes with extreme gore, heavily sexualized content, or excessive continuous profanity.

In my mind, to animate something with any level of believability, one must embody the performance themselves, and I don't aspire to personally take on such themes, nor research them.
